Dr. Alessandro Acocella, DDS, PhD

Dr. Alessandro Acocella qualified in dentistry from the University of Florence in 1999 (cum laude) and, in 2003, he specialised in Oral Surgery (cum laude) at the same university.
From 2007 to 2010 he worked as Clinical Research Associate in the university's Oral and Maxillofacial Department where he was involved in teaching in several Implant Dentistry courses as Assistant Professor.
Between 2010 and 2012 he ran a private course in Guided Implant Surgery (Nobel Guide).
In 2013 he awarded his PhD with a research project on: “Histological and histomorphometric analysis of autologous vs homologues bone block used in implant dentistry”.
Since 2013, Dr. Acocella has been working as oral surgeon and implantologist in his private practice. He is member of Società Italiana di Osteointegrazione (SIO), European Association of Osseointegration (EAO), and Computer Aided Implantology (CAI) Academy. Dr. Acocella is authors of several publications in peer-review journals. His research interests include implant dentistry, bone augmentation and hard tissue healing. He is co-author of the book " Digital Implantology" published by Quintessence 2016. Since 2016 he has been running an international courses on Digital Implantology together with Dr. Ciabattoni Giampiero and Prof. Lundgren Stefan (Umea University).
